Breast Cancer Treatment

Breast Cancer :

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. Approximately 1 lakh new cases of breast cancer are detected every year and account for approximately 25% of all new cancers diagnosed and as many as 20% of all cancer deaths known in Indian women. In addition, 61% of breast cancer patients are in an age group as young as 35 to 50 years. The primary reason for this is lack of awareness and regular screening - as a direct consequence of which patients are only diagnosed at an advanced stage of the disease. As per a WHO report, 61% of breast cancer patients are in stage III or IV of the disease, thereby severely restricting treatment options.
