IUI Treatment

The Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) process is a fertility treatment that involves the introduction of washed and prepared sperm directly into the woman's uterus to facilitate fertilization. Typically, this procedure follows a natural menstrual cycle or may be coordinated with ovulation-inducing medications. First, the male partner or a sperm donor provides a semen sample, which is then processed in the laboratory to concentrate the most active and healthy sperm. At the same time, the woman's reproductive cycle is closely monitored to determine the optimal time for insemination. When the timing is right, a thin, flexible catheter is used to place the prepared sperm into the uterus. This process enhances the chances of sperm meeting the egg for fertilization within the reproductive tract. IUI is a less invasive and more affordable fertility treatment compared to IVF, and it is often recommended for couples with certain infertility issues, such as mild male factor infertility or unexplained fertility problems.
